Individual Counselling - Remote

50 minutes | $147

Individual counselling offers you a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and feelings with a therapist whose role is to guide you through reflections and interventions that will enhance your mental health and day to day experiences. Attending counselling does not mean that there is anything wrong with you - to the contrary, counselling can enhance your wellbeing, allowing you to have more insight about your patterns and difficulties, and gain new skills and strategies that allow you to keep growing into the best version of yourself.
My goal is to help you to thrive in your life.

Here are a few questions that I tend to be asked frequently, such as what to expect when beginning counselling appointments and how well therapy works when we meet virtually. Here are my best answers to common questions.

  • Research has shown that online counselling is as effective as in-person services. It also allows you to access specialized practitioners that may not work in your community. My sessions are conducted via a secure online video conference platform. I email you a link and you do not need to download any software.

  • This is entirely up to you - for some of us, we know its time when the problems we have been having keep coming back up, time and time again. For others, therapy is something we do consistently to check in with ourselves. When you decide to try counselling services, take advantage of free consultations and meet with a few to find the right fit.

  • Anywhere that you have privacy - a favourite room at home or a quiet park in good weather work well. I will help you with setting up for virtual counselling with some helpful hints before our first session.

  • I am here to offer you support, empathy, and truth. And we will work through interventions in each session. Even so, you get to choose the pace at which you engage in change. For some, progress towards goals can occur quickly, and they will complete just a few sessions. For others, complex histories mean that reprocessing takes more time. Iā€™d recommend planning on booking 3-5 sessions to begin and re-evaluating with your therapist as you go.
